Scenarios and climate models
Climate models are of great interest in order better to understand climate change and variability. With global warming, research studies regarding model evaluations and projections at large and regional scales are important for different impact and adaptation studies.

Paleoclimate and historical climate
The session will deal with climate reconstruction techniques for a better understanding of climate and variability.

Climate variability and extremes
The session will cover a broad range of issues: data analysis and pre-processing; variations at different time-scales, trends, interdecadal, interannual, seasonal and shorter periods, extremes derived from temperature and hydrological variables, droughts. Causes of climate variations such as teleconnections, etc.

Climate impacts on the biosphere, hydrology, cryosphere, sea, agriculture, health, etc.
The focus of this session will be studies regarding the impact of climate change on the environment and ecosystems. Socio-economic sectors have expressed their concern about the consequences of climate change and the need for strategies aimed at adaptation and risk reduction.

Forum discussion: Climate change and society
Experts will discuss the impacts of climate change that are of interest to society from different perspectives: health, tourism, economy, etc.
